A Dogs Life

A Dog's Life

When reading the Article My Life as a Dog I became a little confused by the title of this piece because in my opinion the title didn't fit the story. Once I got passed the issue I had with the title I found even more things that I didn't see the importance of in this article. To me it seemed that the author of the story is a fan of dogs until I got to the paragraph where it seemed to be only about the struggles and the hassles that goes along with having a dog. So while reading this it through me for a loop. Making it even more confusing it went on to say that the Author did indeed Love her dog, and how the relationship with his dog was not always a struggle. Then it remained in this manner of how dogs are a important part of a child's life and how "42 percent of children around the age of five mentioned their pets as whom they go to when they are feeling sad, angry, happy, or wanting to share a secret with."
This reading would have been better in my opinion if the negatives were left out or at least placed differently within the text instead of being one of the opening body paragraphs. Although that passage was kind of a negative one it was very relatable if you have a dog. I have an English Springer Spaniel at home and I have some of the same experiences and I am sure almost all dog owners can relate.
In one of the last paragraphs were it talked about how his dog was very fast was confusing to me on what it had to do with the rest of the article. It seemed to be out of place and an unnecessary.

  1. I noticed that the author jumped around with their topic a lot as well and now that I read this I think that the author could definitely have picked a more fitting tile to there topic.
